Parking Lift Landed Cost: Freight, Duty and Clearance for Importers

Published price lists for parking lift landed cost are rarely comparable, because quotations bundle different scopes. This article breaks the total figure into its actual components so you can compare offers on the same basis and identify where a low headline price hides cost elsewhere.

Why Quoted Prices Vary So Widely

Two quotations for nominally the same system can differ substantially because one includes freight, installation supervision, and a spare parts kit while the other covers the equipment ex-works only. Before comparing numbers, establish which Incoterm each quotation uses and whether installation is inside or outside scope.

The Six Cost Components

ComponentWhat determines itBehaviour at scale
EquipmentRated capacity, lift height, drive system, runway finishLargest single line item
Ocean freightUnits per container — 8-9 units (two-post) vs 12 units (four-post) per 20GPFalls sharply per unit as volume rises
Civil worksSlab thickness and anchor pull-out capacity at the installation siteZero on a compliant slab; significant if reinforcement is required
ElectricalDedicated supply matched to the 2.2 kW / 220-380V / 50-60Hz / 1Ph-3Ph power unitModest, but must be budgeted
Installation labourLocal rates, access, number of unitsScales with unit count
ServicingAnnual inspection and hydraulic maintenance over the service lifeRecurring

Container Economics Are Often Overlooked

Shipping cost per unit is set by how many units fit in a container. A 20GP container takes 8-9 units of the two-post series or 12 units of the four-post series; a 40GP takes 18-20 units and 24 units respectively. For a multi-unit project, ordering to fill a container rather than part-filling two can change the landed cost per space materially.

Total Cost of Ownership, Not Purchase Price

Warranty terms belong in the cost calculation. SHININNOVATION covers the lifting structure, hydraulic cylinders, motors, and core mechanical parts — a scope that determines what you pay for during the first years of operation rather than what you pay on day one.

  • Ask what the annual inspection regime costs in your market
  • Confirm hydraulic fluid and seal replacement intervals
  • Check whether replacement parts ship from stock or are made to order
  • Establish the lead time for a failed power unit — downtime has a cost

How to Structure a Like-for-Like Comparison

Request every quotation on the same Incoterm, for the same rated capacity and lift height, with installation stated separately, and with the container quantity spelled out. Any supplier unwilling to break the figure down this way is bundling something you cannot see.
